Lu Shan Yun Wu

廬山雲霧

Terroir: Xiao Tian Chi, Lu Shan, Jiang Xi Province

Cultivar: Heirloom Tea Trees

Mid Spring 2025

Another great year for Yun Wu! The incredible good weather this year grants this mid spring harvest the complexity one would expect from a bud and two leaves without compromising the finesse a cool spring season proudly serves. The showiness of this cold-weather green tea is in full bloom. It’s deeply floral, like a visit inside of an inviting lily.

About Yun Wu 廬山雲霧

Yun Wu means cloud and fog. Grown in one of the coldest and cloudiest tea regions among all teas, Fog Tea is an appropriate name for Yun Wu. It is is a traditional string shape green tea that is savory and floral, with lingering flower notes and sweetness.

Yun Wu originates from a scenic mountain, Lu Shan, with the top micro-lot being Xiao Tian Chi with over 3000 feet in elevation. It is exceptionally foggy year-round and at all times throughout the day, not just in the mornings. For a tea region that is relatively north, this elevation is impressive – that tea can survive this extreme climate is a miracle. Lu Shan Yun Wu remains one of China's "tribute" teas, with selected batches reserved for high officials and visiting diplomats.

Well-made Yun Wu is savory and floral, with lingering flower notes and sweetness. Its showy profile grants it passionate likings and aversions.
