Calling all tea lovers! This International Tea Day, Wednesday, May 21st, promises a tea tasting adventure like no other—where tea traditions from around the world come together for one unforgettable afternoon of sipping, sharing, and storytelling.

From Japanese Gyokuro to Mongolian butter tea, you’ll get to taste through cultures and hear from passionate tea presenters showcasing what makes their tea traditions so unique. This is your chance to drink rare teas, explore time-honored tools, and connect with fellow tea lovers—all in one place!

Each presenter will have their own table where they’ll brew, talk, and share about their tea practice. You’ll rotate from station to station, experiencing the diversity of global tea cultures first-hand.

Here’s what’s brewing:

Japanese Teas – Explore a curated tasting of teas across Japan’s regions and styles—from the familiar sencha and hojicha to the lesser-known Wakoucha and Awabancha. Taste and compare Gyokuro to its Chinese counterpart, try Tencha, Kukicha, and even some funky fermented folk teas!

  • Gyokuro & Chinese Gyokuro

  • Wakoucha (2 types)

  • Hojicha (Kyobancha, Hojicha)

  • Tencha & Kukicha

  • Folk teas (Awabancha, 2 types)

Mongolian Milk Tea – Try this traditional Inner Mongolian drink known as nai cha, made with tea, milk (and a non-dairy version), roasted millet, and a pinch of salt. A grounding, nourishing sip with deep cultural roots.

Gong Fu + Teaware Demonstration – Ever wonder why there are so many types of vessels for brewing tea? In this hands-on tasting and demo, you’ll explore the essential ceramic tools used in gong fu cha—from gaiwans to Yixing teapots, tea bowls, and more. We’ll dive into how size, shape, and material can dramatically affect how a tea brews and tastes.

Even better? We’ll be brewing Tea Drunk teas throughout the demo—featuring top terroir teas across the spectrum of all six categories. Come taste for yourself how the vessel and the tea interact, and how the right teaware can elevate a great tea to the extraordinary.

Wussee Incense – Discover the role of scent in setting the stage for mindful tea drinking. Wuusee invites you to experience their all-natural incense, crafted to complement the ritual of tea. With eight signature blends, each scent invites calm, stillness, and a deeper connection to nature.

Come sip your way through tea culture!
