Huang Zhi Xiang 黃枝香
This tea belongs to the Feng Huang Dan Cong Wu Long tradition.
Huang Zhi Xiang 黃枝香 is a Spring 2025 tea from Feng Xi in Feng Huang Shan. Named after the gardenia fruit used in Chinese herbal tradition, this cultivar is beloved locally but less well known outside the tea region. It has a restrained floral character with lingering notes of golden butter. This is not a showy tea, but one to savor slowly; its lively tannins open into a meadow of refreshing flowers.
Its place within Dan Cong’s fragrance and cultivar naming systems is explained in Naming Conventions in Feng Huang Wu Long.
This tea is featured in Wu Long Guided Tastings — Dan Cong, an on-demand paid course on Udemy.
