Yu Qi Lin
From Hui Yuan Keng in Wu Yi Shan, this Spring 2024 Yan Cha is an exceptionally rare indigenous cultivar, unfamiliar even to many seasoned connoisseurs. Hui Yuan’s reserved, timeless character complements this bready cultivar, giving the tea a distinctive yolky quality and a quietly substantial texture rather than showy aromatics. An unexpected note of paper adds another dimension to the finish.
This tea’s region can also be experienced in the field through the Educational Tea Tour — Wu Yi Shan.
This tea is featured in Wu Long Guided Tastings — Yan Cha, an on-demand paid course on Udemy.

A Connoisseur's Note
